The US manufacturer came up trumps in the late nineties with the release of the Ford Focus, one of the most impressive all-round performance cars to hit the road. The mid-level engine capacities (ranging from 1.4 to 2.5 litres) have been supported by elementary but highly sustained power steering, reflected in the Fiesta range, which has enjoyed a renaissance of late thanks to the evolution of supermini in modern times.

Safety & Costs

Keeping your passengers safe has always been a key concern for those on the road today, not least for families and passenger groups. The recent additions to Ford's line-up, the C-Max and Fusion, provide all the components of the MPV but remodelled to the stunning 'New Edge' design Ford has now incorporated across its ranges. All of Ford's models have performed remarkably well in NCAP crash test ratings.

One of the key elements to the range Ford provides is the spectrum of makes and models to suit all budgets. Prices range from around 5000 for a Ka, the funky younger sister of the Fiesta, up around the 10,000 mark for the Focus, Mondeo, C-Max and S-Max, all the way through to the luxury ranges of large engine sizes and top-of-the-range interior models of car and van (the Ranger is a particular favourite for commerce vehicles).

Technical Specifications

Recently, Ford has streamlined their models by naming each car based on their onboard features. For example, Fiestas now come in Style, Zetec and Ghia legends to name but a few. On the majority of their models, however, you can expect plenty of the norms of modern features - in car entertainment, air conditioning, power steering, ABS and suchlike.
