A lot of MGs designs are modelled on Rover's popular models. For example, the ZR is the hot hatch brother of the Rover 25, but with the added power of running from 0-60 mph in just over 7 seconds. Meanwhile, the passenger-friendly MG ZT is the supercar version of the Rover 75, and the ZT-T version was recently recorded as the fastest estate car of all time.

The sole Euro NCAP test for an MG took place in 2003 with the TF model; four stars awarded, with airbags provided on that particular model as well as a range of others.
