Rover managed to create a handful of models ready for any driver's wishes. Their efforts on the supermini range include the popular entry-level Rover 100, whereas the more sophisticated CityRover can take on terrains normally reserved for four wheel drivers. In larger models, the 200, 400 and 600 models have proved very popular practical drives.
Top performer at Euro NCAP was the Rover 75, with its large bodywork and plenty of interior safety kit earning it four stars.
Rovers are noted for their reliability, with the Rover 25 topping a recent survey (only 1 in 10 motorists of that model having made a claim), and now production is back in progress at Longbridge the premium for sought-after spare parts and repairs should wane considerably.
Engines on Rovers are modest but not weak - expect to find anything between 1.0-2.0 litres across most model ranges, summing up the sheer practicality of these cars for family life, motorway commutes or simple around-town driving. Interiors can come with a range of specs on higher models, but it's the basic comforts which have proved most popular between Rover owners.
