The compact design allows for cornering with the greatest of ease and can go the distance. A greater improvement is the ForFour, which is essentially the ForTwo converted into a hatchback for extra passengers.

Environmentally Friendly Green Car

The price tag Smart cars come at are more than recouped in their astonishing fuel efficiency; the ForTwo can manage a combined economy of 60 miles per gallon.

Don't be fooled by the Smart's tiny crumple zone - extra measures are in places to restrict crash impact and keep drivers protected as best they can. However, ForFour scores best with Euro NCAP, hitting four stars for adult protection.

Fuel Efficient Engines

Don't expect the world - these cars aren't the Tardis! For engine sizes, expect a maximum 1.0 litre engine for the ForTwo (any larger wouldn't achieve that incredible fuel economy). Extra kit can be minimal too - check for either air conditioning or for the cabriolet convertible edition.
