The Vauxhall Zafira is a Compact MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle), and it features seven seats across three rows; the back seats folding into the floor of the boot, instead of having to be removed manually like in some MPVs. As well as being spacious, the Vauxhall Zafira drives very smoothly and features an array of airbags as standard. It is an MPV and especially ideal for a larger-than-average family, with its heightened level of safety and security and its space and seating capacity.

Flexible Cabin Arrangements

Since both second and third rows are foldable, you can use the Vauxhall Zafira as a people carrier for up to seven passengers or as a mini van for transporting a great deal of luggage. One of the great things about the Zafira is that it offers so much space and versatility inside the cabin, but it still an easy size to handle when parking. There is also plenty of headroom, and overhead compartments, as a result of the panoramic roof, mean you can store a lot of things out of sight.

Safety & Security

As well as sporting a multitude of airbags, the Zafira has a number of features included to ensure its occupants' safety. It was awarded a five out of five rating for adult occupant protection and a four out of five for children. ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) is included on some models, which allows your system to control the braking and throttle for you if you go into a skid. The Thatcham's New Car Security Ratings awarded the Zafira four out of five stars for protection against drive away theft, giving you extra piece of mind.

Comfort & Aesthetics

The Vauxhall Zafira has an attractive exterior, with the inclusion of the signature Vauxhall 'V' shaped grille. The interior is, of course, spacious, but the surfaces are also well protected against wear and tear. The gear stick is easy to reach, and the aircraft throttle like handbrake leaves a lot of storage space in the front, as well as looking great. Everything is designed to be to hand, making the car comfortable and easy to drive. The optional panoramic roof really opens up the car as well, providing even more space, light and style.

Technological Features

Adaptive Forward Lighting is an innovative technology that lifts the spread of dipped headlights when you are travelling over 65mph. Its Bi-Xenon headlights also move with the steering wheel to effectively light the path you are taking. The CD and Sat Nav systems are powerful and helpful. A radio feed allows the Sat Nav to re-direct your route if it receives a report of traffic ahead.

Market Success

After only ten years in production, it is a relatively new car with only two models having been produced thus far, but it has proved hugely successful in the UK. When the Zafira first arrived, it helped to pioneer the seven seat compact MPV market. In 2006, it was the UK's tenth best selling car.
