SsangYong Motors are an emerging presence in the Asian auto industry, an industry which prizes efficiency and economy as highly as comfort, flair and performance. The name SsangYong means 'Double Dragon', or 'Twin Dragons', and it was established as far back as 1954, engineering and manufacturing commercial vehicles like trucks and buses. Using their expertise and experience in the powerful 4x4 sector, SsangYong made a smooth transition to personal cars in 1988, and in the early 90s Mercedes Benz saw their potential and invested heavily in their development.
